Why I'm Running for Re-Election

“As a Fairport graduate and mother of four young children in Perinton, I know that our town can provide services and experiences that bring neighbors together and enrich the lives of the entire community.”

EDUCATION

Meredith went to Brooks Hill Elementary School, Johanna Perrin Middle School, Minerva Deland and Fairport High School before graduating in 1999. She earned her Bachelors of Arts at Brigham Young University in Political Science and later completed her Masters of Science degree at St. John Fisher College in Adolescent Education for Social Studies and Special Education. While studying in college, Meredith also interned at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium and spent a semester doing researh and service in Kampala, Uganda.

VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES

Meredith spent 18 months during college volunteering in Johannesburg, South Africa and Botswana working in local communities and church congregations. As a parent, she helped as a Girls on the Run coach and a Perinton Recreation Assistant Soccer Coach. Meredith is an active member of the Brooks Hill PTA - helping with many school wide activities. She also serves as an Assistant Director for a regional young women’s camp with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

FAMILY

Meredith and her husband, Curtis, met while he was completing his PhD in Quantum Optics at the University of Rochester. They are the proud parents of four children: Roscoe (age 9), Mabel (age 6), Commodore (age 4) and Teddy (age 2). Her mother and father, Suzanne and Ed Stockman, still live in Fairport in the same house where they raised their children. Suzanne volunteers as a Library Board Trustee for the Fairport Public Library. Meredith and Curtis are proud parents of a scout in BSA Troop 208 and three cubscouts in Pack 273.

Community Building

Owner of Mama Goose on the Loose - local business catering to young children and their families and producer and Host of Red Raider Radio Podcast about Fairport residents. Fairport Central School District long-term substitute teacher.
